Extradition to Slovenia (Republic of Slovenia) may take place on the basis of a European arrest warrant. Slovenia has been a member of the European Union since 2004. In 2007, border controls with EU states were lifted in accordance with the Schengen Agreement. The country is a democratically constituted parliamentary republic.

European arrest warrant from Slovenia

German nationals can also be extradited to Slovenia for prosecution on the basis of a European arrest warrant.

The European arrest warrant is transmitted directly between the competent judicial authorities of both countries. Slovenia is seeking numerous persecuted persons with an international arrest warrant via Interpol.
