extradition to Namibia

Zurück zur Länderliste

Extradition to Namibia (official: Republic of Namibia) is possible, although there is no extradition treaty between Germany and the Republic of Namibia. The requirements for extradition documents are laid down in the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 and must be transmitted by diplomatic channels. Provisional extradition custody can be ordered in Germany on the basis of Interpol red notice.

Namibia is a member of Interpol and is seeking several persecuted persons worldwide with an international arrest warrant. Amnesty International's 2015/16 Annual Report focuses on restrictions on freedom of expression and violent attacks against women.
